Our team worked with the City of Lacombe to develop a renovation plan for the Kinsmen Aquatic Facility, as well as create a detailed business plan. The short and long-term needs of the facility were identified through an extensive process of community consultation and technical assessments by our team. Creative solutions were developed to improve pool operations and meet the needs of residents over the next 10+ years.
We developed a multi-phased renovation plan that included enhancements to the change rooms, staff areas, pool deck and lighting; expansion of the building envelope to include a large leisure pool, waterslide, fitness centre, indoor playground, hot tubs, spray structure, sauna, steam room; and expansion of the mechanical core and service ducts.
Detailed capital costing was developed for each phase of the renovation plan. In total, the plan identified over $22 million worth of renovations.
A detailed business plan was developed that outlined improvements to operations, programming, marketing, revenue generation and cost savings. Operational budget forecasts were developed for each renovation scenario.
To further support the renovation and business plans, we developed implementation strategies to most effectively leverage investments in the aquatic facility.
