Our team worked with Lac La Biche County to develop a comprehensive master plan that provided a unified vision for recreation and parks service delivery in the County. The plan identifies indoor and outdoor recreation facility needs for the community in the short, medium, and long term, and charts a clear path forward to implementation.
County Council unanimously approved the master plan in July of 2019 and Administration has achieved great success in implementation.
Stakeholders and residents were involved at each stage of the process to ensure the plan is “owned” by the community as a whole.
The plan provides a firm stepping stone for continued planning in the County and guides future investment in public leisure facilities over the next 20 years.
Tourism featured strongly throughout the plan and was one of the overall focus areas. Recommendations were provided regarding sport tourism, downtown revitalization, cultural tourism, and outdoor experiences.
